Republic Day

          Turkey had effectively been a republic from April 23, 1920 (the establishment of Grand National Assembly of Turkey) but official recognition of this came only 3 years later. On 29 October 1923, the new name of the nation and its status as a republic was declared. After that, a vote occurred in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Atatürk was selected as the 1st president of the Republic of Turkey by unanimous vote

          The Republic of Turkey's founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Republic made ​​Tenth Anniversary Celebration on October 29, 1933 the 10th Year Nutku'nda, October 29, the day described as the biggest feast.

Türkiye'de 23 Nisan 1920 (Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi kurulması) bir cumhuriyetin temelleri atılmıştı ama  resmen ilanı  3 yıl sonra geldi. 29 Ekim 1923 yılında cumhuriyet resmen ilan edildi. Bundan sonra Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisinin oylaması ile yeni cumhuriyetin ilk cumhurbaşkanı olarak Mustafa Kemal Atatürk seçildi.

          Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kurucusu Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Cumhuriyet'in Onuncu Yıl Kutlamalarının yapıldığı 29 Ekim 1933 tarihinde verdiği 10. Yıl Nutku'nda, bu günü en büyük bayram olarak nitelendirmiştir.

Zafer Bayramı, 1922 yılında 26 Ağustos'ta başlayıp, 30 Ağustos'ta Dumlupınar'da Mustafa Kemal'in başkumandanlığında zaferle sonuçlanan Başkomutanlık Meydan Muharebesi'ni (Büyük Taarruz) anmak için kutlanan bayramdır.
İşgal birliklerinin ülke sınırlarını terketmesi daha sonra gerçekleşse de, 30 Ağustos sembolik olarak ülke topraklarının geri alındığı günü temsil eder.

Her yıl, Harp Okulları ve Astsubay Meslek Yüksekokulları bu tarihte mezun verir.
Tüm subay ve astsubay rütbe değişiklikleri bu tarihte geçerli olur.

Silivri Yoghurt
